iOS developer at Straibey is an essential part of our product team, working in conjunction with our Android and backend developers to build our consumer mobile app. You will work with a small team of developers in a fast-changing startup environment. We are currently building out and scaling up our AI-based oral hygiene application. You will be responsible for the development and maintenance of the iOS application.

What you'll do

Architect and build smooth and stable features for Straiberry's iOS app using Swift.
Work closely with product/Design to identify opportunities, evaluate tradeoffs, and translate product goals into high-quality shippable code.
Spec, build, test, and deploy user experiences through an agile, collaborative process from Design through implementation and launch.
Work closely with a small, cross-functional team to ship new features, including backend (we use Django), product, Design, and Data Science. The team will rely on your guidance when it comes to product decisions, so you'll directly impact keeping the business productive.

You may be a good fit for this role if you have:

Hands-on experience writing well-documented, easily-tested code in Swift using modern Architecture paradigms
A deep appreciation for our intentionally-not-like-other-startups aesthetic ;)
Using types and have a passion for statically verifying code.
A disciplined approach to development, Testing, documentation, and code structure in a team environment
3+ years of experience and strong CS fundamentals
3+ years of iOS development experience of building iOS (iPhone, iPad, and universal) applications with the iOS SDK
Knowledge of iOS Design patterns and experience building sleek, high-performance user interfaces
Willingness to work in an Agile environment
High level of comprehension of the English language, as well as a firm understanding of written and conversational English
Good understanding, and hands-on experience, of implementing unit tests, end-to-end tests using JUnit/Jasmine/Karma/Protractor/Selenium

We've been working remotely even before the pandemic, so we welcome remote candidates for this role. In no way does "remote" mean isolated. We're big into cross-functional collaboration. We ideate collectively, ship qualitatively-validated MVPs, and iterate based on internal & customer feedback. We validate what we think people need with iterative user Testing, A/B test everything, and use data to inform our decisions. Weekly, the whole team talks through why tests worked or failed and planned our sprints.
